Don Covey serves as Managing Director of Origination Technology of Lender Processing Services. In this role, he is primarily responsible for the Empower loan origination system and the Customer Relationship Management platform.

Covey rejoined Lender Processing Services in November of 2004 as Director of New Sales for the Mortgage Servicing division, having been with the company for seven and ½ years in the early 1990’s. During that time, he worked as New Product Development Manager, Major Accounts Sales and senior vice president of Client Services for the originations division. After leaving the company in 1998, Covey successfully grew the businesses of Cybertek, Decade Systems and experITy as the National Business Development Manager for each.

Covey has over 24 years of financial and data processing services experience. Having started as a developer, he moved into customer support and management, eventually migrating to the sales role 10 years ago where he has been very successful working with major prospects in the industry. In 1999, Covey was selected as the Mortgage Industry Technologist of the Year by the Mortgage Technology magazine. 

Covey is active in the local youth sports arena having coached baseball, basketball, and football for the past 14 years. He also has run a local church basketball league and is involved with annual mission trips throughout the world.

Covey received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Florida Atlantic University with a minor in engineering, and he is a recent graduate of Jacksonville University’s Executive MBA in Leadership Development program.
