James Gary Owens manages the Business Performance Engineering practice for LPS’ Strategic Consulting Services Division. Business Performance Engineering works with LPS customers to provide transformative solutions for a wide range of critical enterprise challenges within the financial services industry, including strategic business planning, business process simulation / reengineering and the development of technology roadmaps. In addition, Business Performance Engineering provides strategic and technology-related thought leadership to the industry and within LPS, specifically related to the use of technology as a business enabler, strategic planning and business reengineering.
Prior to his current role as Senior Vice President, Business Performance Engineering and Program Management Practices, James served as Vice President of LPS’ Information Management Consulting Services and as a Business Development Executive, Business Partners for Fidelity National Information Services.
Before that, James managed RDA Corporation’s Residential Lending Practice and managed a variety of large custom software development engagements as a Senior Program Manager. At American Management Systems, James was a Principal and Senior Architect, while at CACI, Inc., he worked as a Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer.
James has been published in Default Servicing News, HousingWire Magazine, Mortgage Technology, National Mortgage News, MBA Newslink and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
At George Mason University, James earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations and is a master’s degree candidate in Software Systems Engineering. He holds 14 technical certifications from Microsoft, Sun and Oracle and 16 certifications from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and is an MBA Certified Mortgage Technologist (CMT). James is currently a member of the MBA and of the Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM).
