Two California Counties Select Lender Processing Services’ Aptitude Solutions for E-Recording and Indexing Platform

LPS’ OnCore Solution to Handle High-Volume Property Recordings

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (January 8, 2009) – Lender Processing Services, Inc. (LPS), a leading provider of integrated technology and services to the mortgage industry, announced today that its Aptitude Solutions’ division has been selected by California’s Nevada and Placer counties to provide a powerful software solution that further automates and streamlines land recording and indexing for both counties.

OnCore, Aptitude Solutions’ industry-leading recording and indexing platform, enables county governments of all sizes to reduce internal paperwork and easily manage workflow by electronically moving document images through the recording process, rather than through traditional manual and paper-intensive processes. OnCore’s features include electronic recording, automatic document queuing, electronic digital stamping, historic image back posting, full accounting functionality and more. The platform’s flexibility and wide-ranging capabilities are easily scalable to meet the unique business needs of any size county government.

After completing an in-depth Request for Proposals (RFP) process, Nevada County will become the first county in California to implement Aptitude Solutions’ OnCore platform for electronic land records indexing and e-recording. “After reviewing several systems, Nevada County selected Aptitude Solutions’ OnCore platform as the best system to meet legislative requirements for redaction and to commence e-recording,” said Nevada County Clerk – Recorder Gregory J. Diaz. “With this solution, the public will be able to better obtain the information they need, and our staff will be able to serve the public with greater efficiency.”

Placer County also plans to implement the OnCore platform to handle high-volume recording and to provide increased automation and detailed audit checks. With recording volume of approximately 300 documents a day, Placer County will use the OnCore solution to increase processing speed with e-recording and automated redaction capabilities.

Both Nevada and Placer counties will take advantage of OnCore’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to automatically index documents as they are recorded, while Nevada County will also use the same OCR technology to capture redaction candidates as documents are recorded. With OnCore’s innovative system capabilities, users are able to remain compliant with legislative mandates on privacy by removing sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, from county recorders’ public image libraries.

Paul Miller, president of LPS’ Aptitude Solutions, said: “We’re proud to support the visions of both Nevada and Placer counties to utilize OnCore’s leading technology to increase efficiency, reduce paperwork and better serve the public.”
